Sen. Ted Cruz Campaign Pulls Ad With Softcore Porn Actress (Video)

The campaign of Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas pulled a commercial on Feb. 11 after it was revealed that an actress in the ad had appeared in softcore porn films (video below).

The Cruz ad features a "Conservative Anonymous" group where a man complains that he voted for a conservative candidate who "cut a deal on amnesty."

"Maybe you should vote for more than just a pretty face next time," actress Amy Lindsay replies.

Lindsay has appeared in softcore films such as: "Kinky Sex Club," "Milf," "Carnal Wishes," "Animal Lust," "Insatiable Obsession" and "Sex Spa II," notes Mediaite.com

Lindsay also appeared in a TV episode of "Star Trek: Voyager."

In response to news about Lindsay, Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler told BuzzFeed News: "The actress responded to an open casting call. She passed her audition and got the job. Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the production company. Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad."

Lindsay tweeted her disappointment: "Extremely disappointed the #TedCruz campaign pulled the national television spot I had a role in... #moretocome #myvotecounts."

Before the Cruz campaign pulled the ad, Lindsay told Buzzfeed News: "In a cool way, then hey, then it's not just some old, white Christian bigot that people want to say, 'It could be, maybe, a cool kind of open-minded woman like me.'"

Lindsay said that she thought the filmmakers and casting director of the commercial knew her "complete filmography," but that wasn't the case.

She plans to vote for Cruz or Donald Trump.

Davido/Sophia saga

■ Tale of sex, hemp and booze■ NDLEA connection

By TOSIN AJIRIRE

Is Afro hip hop sensation, David Adeleke aka Davido hooked on hard drugs? Is it true that he smokes marijuana or rather sniff cocaine? These are the questions most Nigerians are asking following the spat between Davido and his baby mama, Sophia over the child abduction allegation levelled against the music star and his half sister, Coco.In the heat of the drama, Ovation publisher, Dele Momodu, had waded in and thrown his weight behind Sophia, his cousin. In his reaction entitled 'Why I Got Involved in Davido and Sophia's Baby Mama Drama', Momodu had narrated how Davido's father, Dr Adedeji Adeleke called to tell him that his son had fathered a baby girl with his cousin, Sophia.According to Momodu, Adeleke said when the child's health became endangered, he had to wade in and take custody of Imade because "the baby was discovered to have traces of marijuana in her during a medical test and he (Adeleke) believed Sophia and David were smokers and he needed to protect the c hild from irresponsible parents."A few months ago, the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), had insinuated that Davido was into drugs following the release of the video to his single, Fans Mi, which features American rapper, Meek Mill.NDLEA's Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, said the anti-narcotic agency had set up a panel of investigation to look into the production of the music video having suspected it of promoting drug trafficking. However, Davido denied the insinuations by the NDLEA that he's into drugs. Speaking through his manager, Kamal Ajiboye, Davido said that what the NDLEA had mistaken for drugs was actually yam flour, and that the Fans Mi video was not only aimed at promoting the production of yam flour but also its sale and exportation."People need to take time to watch the video again and see for themselves what it is all about. I don't know why anybody would want to make up a story about Davido getting involved with hard drugs. "The video is basically made to dissuade people from trafficking in hard drugs. The purpose of the video is to let the audience know that since some people are making money from hard drugs, they can also make a lot of money by selling yam flour," he explained. But when asked what the anti-narcotic agency is doing about the Fans Mi's video that is still enjoying wide rotation on television, Ofoyeju told Saturday Sun: "Yes, the video was publicly condemned by the agency because it is considered indecent. The issue is being addressed professionally through counter sensitization approach."On the bitter fight between Davido and his baby mama, Sophia, which drug happens to be at the epicentre, Ofoyeju said the NDLEA is yet to be invited into the matter."I am aware that the matter is being handled by National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic In Persons (NAPTIP). We are yet to be invited. I am confident that at the appropriate time, necessary action will be taken," he told Saturday Sun.Ofoyeju added: "NDLEA is working round the clock to reduce the problem of drug trafficking and use in the country. Several proactive measures had been taken to address the problem as an intelligence-led agency. You will recall that the agency appointed a music artiste, Lawanson Yinka aka Lamboginny and Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus as Anti-Drug Abuse Ambassadors."The NDLEA also established the Celebrity Drug-Free Club. Members of this club are celebrities with proven track record of moral rectitude worthy of emulation. This was done in partnership with a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), The Drug Salvation Foundation in response to the principle of collective responsibility in drug control."The agency will continue to open its doors to credible stakeholders in this important campaign. We strongly believe that the agency needs advocates to amplify our public enlightenment programmes because of their influence on their fans and colleagues. Some of the slogan s used in such campaigns include You Don't Need Drugs to Be A Champion; Be Smart Don't Start; and Don't Allow Drugs Control Your Life, among others."Some celebrities arrested with drugs by the NDLEA include a popular Yoruba movie actress, Hassanat Akinwande Taiwo, popularly known as Yetunde Wunmi. She was arrested for cocaine trafficking while attempting to board a Virgin Atlantic flight to London.Another actor, Tochi Uche Odobuta was arrested on March 23, 2007 for attempting to smuggle about 1.336kg of cocaine. Also, King Sunny Ade's former guitarist, Fatoke Abiodun, was arrested while attempting to board an Air France flight to Italy. While conducting a search on him, two parcels of cocaine weighing 1.575kg were found hidden in the false bottom of his luggage. All the artistes were all convicted and jailed.Meanwhile, less than 24 hours after Davido and his baby-mama, Sophia, signed a peace pact at National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to k eep their affairs off social media, another report had surfaced on the matter on theeagleonline.According to the report, Davido told NAPTIP that Sophia told a lot of lies in the course of their relationship. He subsequently took to his twitter handle and posted the following message: "Who signed what?"Instantly, Davido's comments generated traffic on social media, as they went viral.
